What Is an Agentic Browser?

An agentic browser is a web navigation tool that can autonomously interpret web content, make decisions, and execute tasks across multiple systems without predetermined scripts. For example, if you give it a goal like, “Book me a flight to Paris under $500,” it will open a travel site, compare prices across airlines, select the best option, fill in passenger details, and proceed to checkout, all without a human guiding any individual step.

1. Indirect Prompt Injection

Indirect prompt injection happens when malicious instructions hidden in ordinary web content trick an AI agent into treating them as legitimate commands.

2. Data Leaving the Perimeter Without Anyone Noticing

An agentic browser browses the web on behalf of an employee, which means it often has access to sensitive internal data, such as customer records, financial reports, and strategic documents. The risk is that when the agent makes requests to external services, submits a form, or queries an API, it can carry that data out of the corporate perimeter without anyone noticing.
